Artists and Gallery

At The Herriot Gallery there will be a core body of work by local artists, supplemented every 2 months by an exhibition of work by a featured artist. At the opening of an exhibition we will hold a preview evening at which the artist will be present to talk about their work . John Threlfall

The Swarovski/Birdwatch 'Bird Artist of the Year 2007'. Elected full member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in 2007.  John will be exhibiting at Herriot’s in July 2010.

Wendy Jones

Wendy will be having a solo exhibition at the Herriot Gallery at the end of May 2010. Having left teaching, Cumbrian born Wendy Jones became a full-time painter in 1996. Moving to Wensleydale she returned to landscape painting..

Moira Metcalfe

Moira’s work explores landscapes of constantly changing moods and climates with an enormity of light and movement, drawing out hidden colours. ...

Andrea Cooper

Andrea paints the Yorkshire Dales landscape in acrylics and oils, hoping to express it’s  wonderful form, light and nature.

Piers Browne

Piers is a renowned Royal Academy exhibiting artist who has been producing and selling work for 35 years.

Jonathan Pomroy

Jonathan is a wildlife and landscape artist, now living in Ampleforth. Since leaving art college in Bristol he has worked as a free-lance artist, basing watercolours on his field sketch-books that are packed with ideas for compositions .

Jonathan’s next solo exhibition at Herriot’s will be at Easter; from March 31st to April 19th.

Brian Alderman lives and works as an artist in Burtersett, near to Hawes in Wensleydale.
