The Herriot Gallery is open all year, from 10.00am to 5pm, every day during the summer season, and from 10am to 4pm on Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun between October and Easter. The Herriot Coffee Shop is open during the same hours, so why not stop for refreshments whilst you take time to browse the work on display? The coffee shop serves Farrer’s of Kendal freshly ground coffee, Fair-Trade tea, hot chocolate, home-made soup, sandwiches and delicious home-made cakes. Herriot’s is situated on the A684, midway between the A1 at Leeming Bar and junction 37 on the M6 (Kendal). The building in on the left on the cobbled stretch of one-way road, just after the waterfall bridge. There are some parking spaces outside the building, but these do not belong to Herriot’s. Otherwise there are several no-pay parking areas and 2 large pay and display car parks in the town. |
