Welcome to The Herriot Gallery’s  brand new web-site. Please bear with us whilst we complete some of the pages and fill in the gaps!

Here you will see some of the paintings and other art-work that is currently available, plus profiles of the artists, information about forthcoming exhibitions and links to other related web-sites.

The Herriot Gallery, open from Easter 2008, is situated in the 300-year old Herriot’s building on the main cobbled street that runs through Hawes, in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire.

The Herriot Gallery represents the fulfillment of a long-held ambition by owners Richard Bateson and Andrea Cooper, and one that they hope will bring the art of many talented Dales people to a wider audience.

Andrea is a painter of  landscapes, something that she finds irresistible surrounded as Herriot’s is by the most glorious  fells, moorland, rivers and picturesque villages, illuminated in a unique way as the sun filters through rapidly shifting weather systems.
